Ruthann Yamanaka, senior vice president - human resources and planning for Outrigger Enterprises Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Janice Yee as corporate director - HR Services based in Outrigger’s human resources department in Honolulu.
In this newly-created position, Ms. Yee is responsible for the company’s Human Resources Service Center and the function of employee relations, which include overseeing the compensation and benefits, payroll, recruiting functions, as well as workforce development, transition management, employee relations, and Human Resource process improvement and compliance.
Ms. Yee joins Outrigger with a strong background in both human resources and hospitality. She began her career in hospitality in bell services at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Soon after completing the Hyatt’s management training program, she was promoted to the positions of employee relations manager and assistant director of human resources. She was subsequently tapped to assist in the opening of the Hyatt Regency in Waikoloa in the same capacity. Ms. Yee was next promoted to be director of human resources for the Hyatt Regency Kauai, where she was a lead executive in the opening of the new 600-room luxury resort.
After 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ms. Yee relocated to Oahu and served as vice president and director of human resources at City Bank, International Savings & Loan, CB Bancshares, Inc. Most recently, she served as vice president and director of human resources for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, a position she held since 1997.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Ms. Yee earned a bachelor’s degree in the School of Travel Industry Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
