In his new position, Wiendieck will oversee the management and operation of the complex, including a 480-room hotel, six restaurants, 170 apartments, 138 office units and 29 showrooms.
Wiendieck has over 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality industry, with a global footprint that includes Germany, Austria, Scotland, the US, the UAE, Switzerland and more. He joined the Kempinski Hotels in 1997 and he was firstly appointed as a General Manager in 2007, at the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia.
In 2010, he moved to China and successfully managed several Kempinski properties such as Kempinski Hotel Dalian, Kempinski Hotel Wuxi, Kempinski Hotel Guiyang, Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou. Prior to joining Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center, Wiendieck was the General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Jinan, leading the ‘youngest’ Kempinski hotel in China to successfully complete its grand opening.

It also represents the timeless European luxury hotel in the capital city of Beijing’, said Matthias Al-Amiry, Vice President Operations, Greater China and Mongolia of the Kempinski Hotels.
Fully confident of Wiendieck’s appointment, he shared: ‘With Wiendieck’s rich management experience and deep understanding of the Kempinski culture and the China market, we believe he will lead this landmark hotel, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, to continue its beautiful performance, and become one of the premier luxury hotels in the capital city’.
Wiendieck was born in Germany and holds a degree from the Heidelberg School of Hotel Management and an MBA from the Reims Management School in France. Aside from his native proficiency in German, he speaks fluent English and basic French. He is also currently learning Chinese.
