New Corinthia Hotels executive officer takes up post

CHI Ltd, the hotel management arm of the Malta based Corinthia Group of companies, announced that Mr Tony Potter has officially taken up his position as the Company’s new chief executive officer, at the company’s head office in Floriana, Malta.
Mr Potter brings with him a wealth of experience in the hotel industry, having occupied senior roles in global hotel companies throughout his career. Before joining CHI Ltd, Tony was group chief executive officer, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and an executive director of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc.
Prior to that, Tony held the post of chief executive officer at Choice Hotels International Europe and was an executive director of Friendly Hotels plc. Previously, Tony Potter had spent 19 years with Hilton International, where he was also a Director of that company. During that time he held the positions of Senior Vice President Europe, Senior Vice President North America and Canada and Managing Director of Hilton UK.
Welcoming Tony to CHI, company chairman the Hon Karmenu Vella, said: “Tony joins us at a very exciting time in CHI’s development, as we embark on our new joint venture with top American hotel chain, the Wyndham Hotel Group. This joint venture will provide an ideal platform for CHI’s ambitious upmarket expansion into the EMEA region and will be the catalyst for CHI’s aspirations of becoming a leading upscale international hotel operator. With his impressive background and vast experience in the hotel industry, Tony will be a key contributor to this new development”.
On his part Tony Potter said: “I am thrilled by the prospect of joining CHI at such a crucial time in its planned development. It certainly looks like we have an exciting time ahead of us and I am confident that my long experience in the hotel trade can help CHI reach its aim of growing steadily as an international upscale hotel operating company”.
