The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver Executive Chef Robert LeCrom will oversee the culinary needs of Canada's athletes at the 2012 Games.
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver Executive Chef Robert LeCrom is headed to London for the 2012 Olympics following a successful showing as one of the official chefs of the Canadian Olympic Team at the 2008 Beijing Summer Games. He was also responsible for the athletes’ culinary needs at the Vancouver Winter Games last year.
In his Olympic role, LeCrom ensures the athletes are well fueled throughout the competition.
Born and raised in Brittany, France, LeCrom trained at the Tours Hotel School in the Loire Valley. He began cooking in 1962, honing his culinary skills while working his way through France, England, Spain and Japan, finally settling in Canada.
A fixture at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver since November 1989, LeCrom has earned a solid place in the heart of the city and the iconic hotel during his reign as Executive Chef; delighting restaurant guests, molding young culinarians and orchestrating the food and wine pairings served at many of Vancouver’s most prominent gala events.
LeCrom oversees the culinary operations at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, including Griffins Restaurant, 900 West Lounge, in-room dining and banquets. True to his French roots, his philosophy has always centered on “cooking fresh, cooking simple, cooking seasonal.”
