Hilton Worldwide today announced the promotions of Matt Wehling and Ted Ent as the Vice Presidents and Managing Directors, Development, for the Northwest and Southwest United States Regions, respectively.
These positions were created to better manage the development pipelines in these North American regions and ensure the strategic expansion of Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio of brands. In their roles, Wehling and Ent will address development opportunities and foster relations with current and potential partners in these areas. Prior to their promotions, the northwest and southwest regions were grouped together as the “central region,” in which Wehling and Ent both worked, and the “western region.”
Wehling began his career in hospitality nearly 20 years ago with HFS, now Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, in franchise development. In 1996, Wehling moved to Red Roof Inns, Inc. to assist in the launch of their newly formed franchise development arm. For the last decade, Wehling has held development positions with Hilton Worldwide, specifically in the central region.
Prior to his promotion, Ent oversaw all aspects of developing in Texas and Oklahoma. Previously, Ent served Hilton Worldwide as Vice President, Mixed Use Development, and oversaw all aspects of the development for various condominium and residential related projects. Prior to joining Hilton Worldwide, Ent served in several executive positions in hotel operations and development, most notably with Canyon Ranch Resorts & Health Spas and Hyatt Hotels.
“Matt and Ted both possess a wealth of development experience and knowledge, as well as a proficiency to develop and foster relationships,” said Craig Mance, Senior Vice President, Franchise Development, North America. “Their significant experience will allow us to better address the needs of our franchise owners and pursue opportunities that will bring many benefits to our company. We are thrilled that Matt and Ted are taking on these new roles.”
The company is currently realigning the team that will support Wehling and Ent in their new roles and expects that all changes should be complete by Q1 2011.
