The Doubletree® Hotel Boston-Downtown is proud to announce that they have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) prestigious ENERGY STAR®, the national symbol for protecting the environment through superior energy performance. Located in the heart of Boston’s Chinatown and downtown Theater District, the 268-room hotel is operated by Corcoran Jennison and managed by Hilton Hotels Corporation.

The Doubletree Hotel Boston Downtown celebrates its ENERGY STAR achievement as part of a year-long project undertaken by both the hotel’s executive management as well as team members across every discipline of the business. A continuous improvement plan has been in place for several months to determine opportunities where different parts of the building and/or its everyday operations could be enhanced for energy conservation. A conscious effort was also undertaken by the hotel engineering team to research and install new energy efficient fixtures and appliances, wherever possible.

In the U.S., energy loss from commercial buildings represents almost 18 percent of our greenhouse gas emissions. According to the EPA, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $12 billion and prevented greenhouse gas emissions equal to those from 23 million vehicles in 2005 alone. The EPA reports that more than 3,200 buildings have earned the ENERGY STAR since in 1999.

"The Doubletree Hotel Boston-Downtown is proud to accept the EPA’s ENERGY STAR in recognition of our energy efficiency efforts,” said Stephen Pole, hotel general manager. “As a business that firmly believes in caring about our employees, our hotel guests and the community we serve, each of our team members that represent the hotel are making individual and collective commitments towards environmental stewardship as a result of this achievement.”

The Doubletree Hotel Boston-Downtown is located in one of the most central and convenient locations in the city, including the esteemed medical facilities of New England Medical Center and Tufts-NEMC's Floating Hospital for Children. Adjacent to many of Boston’s most historic sites, including the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and the Boston Common, the Doubletree Hotel Boston-Downtown is surrounded by a world of cuisines in a variety of fine restaurants and only moments from the boutiques, antique stores, shops and galleries of Newbury Street. Along with a subway “T” station adjacent to the hotel and complimentary shuttle service to nearby Bayside Expo Center, business and leisure guests alike are provided with a variety of sustainable, energy saving transportation solutions during their Boston visit.

The unique atmosphere in the modern, Feng Shui-inspired Doubletree Hotel Boston-Downtown reflects the natural influence of the nearby Asian community. Once home to the prestigious Don Bosco High School, this hotel has a rich Boston history. The Doubletree boasts 267 elegantly appointed guestrooms, suites, and executive level accommodations with an impressive array of in-room amenities, including wireless high-speed Internet access. A 2,400-square-foot seasonal courtyard presents a refreshing outdoor venue for business and social receptions with the Boston skyline as an impressive backdrop. More than 2,500 square feet of additional indoor event space provide great space for small-to-medium sized executive meetings, training sessions and intimate social gatherings.

Situated less than ten minutes from Logan International Airport, the Doubletree Hotel Boston Downtown is located at 821 Washington Street, Boston, Mass. 02111.
