Crestline Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) Cowan as Regional Vice President of Operations. Cowan joins Crestline Hotels & Resorts from Starwood Hotels & Resorts where he was Vice President of Development for the Southeast and the Caribbean. Cowan has been a part of many growing hotel organizations and has extensive multi-unit/multi-brand experience in his previous assignments. Among his accomplishments, he has successfully mentored an area of responsibility that encompassed 10 regions and over 90 hotels.
In his position with Crestline, Cowan will proactively work with hotel owners and operators to enhance their property’s asset management. In addition, he will support Crestline as they pursue new development and property management contracts. Mr. Cowan will report directly to Crestline’s President & CEO, Dave Durbin.
“Bob brings tremendous depth and an impressive track record in asset management and operations,” said Durbin. “His financial management skills, coupled with his ability to work with owner’s to meet and exceed their financial expectations, make him a great fit for Crestline as we continue to carefully expand our portfolio of best-of-class hotels throughout the U.S.,” added Durbin.
Cowan has more than 25 years of hospitality industry operations, management and financial experience. In addition to his senior positions with Starwood, he has held management positions with Omni Hotels, HEI Merritt Hospitality, Interstate Hotels Corporation and Marriott Hotels & Resorts. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of Houston in Texas.
