Greg Champion, Benchmark’s chief operating officer, made the announcement "I can’t think of a better person to assume the leadership of this extraordinary hospitality jewel,” said Mr. Champion. “Tim’s experience successfully running the operations, spa and culinary departments for multiple boutique luxury properties and his abilities to motivate a team uniquely qualifies him to serve as general manager of Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa. We welcome him to this property and to our company.”
Tim Johnson joins Sorrel River Ranch following serving as resort manager for the Resort at Paws Up, a 37,000-acre luxury property located in Western, Montana. In this capacity Mr. Johnson was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort and spa, including the extensive acreage, vacation homes and glamping – or luxury camping -- tents.
Mr. Johnson began his hospitality career in the food & beverage department, holding director of food and beverage and director of restaurant positions at signature luxury resorts throughout Virginia. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, located in Claremont, California, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Psychology. Mr. Johnson and his family are relocating to the Moab area.
