Hilton Albany executives joined officials and dignitaries from the City and County of Albany for the hotel's ceremonial unveiling today following its official conversion to a Hilton on Thursday, March 7. The unveiling included tours of the property's new lobby and restaurant spaces.

The 385-room hotel on State Street, the area's largest hotel, recently completed a $14 million dollar renovation. The sophisticated and stylish upgrades, which are found only at the newest full-service Hilton Hotel & Resorts hotels, are seen as critical ingredients to increasing downtown Albany's draw among large groups, business travelers and tourists.

Hilton Albany also formally announced today the appointment of John D'Adamo as general manager of the property. In his role, D'Adamo will be responsible for achieving optimal guest satisfaction and general oversight of the hotel's daily operations.

D'Adamo brings more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his role at Hilton Albany, including five years as the general manager of The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany.

"We are thrilled to officially complete our transition to the Hilton Hotels & Resorts banner and look forward to bringing the high level of service and guest satisfaction synonymous with the brand to downtown Albany," said Hilton Albany General Manager John D'Adamo. "We look forward to welcoming guests to experience a new level of luxury and comfort in downtown Albany at what is becoming the premier hotel in the Capital Region."

The extensive renovation work throughout the property includes upgrades to the hotel's guest rooms, which feature new furniture, fixtures and bathrooms. Guests will also enjoy a newly re-designed main entrance, lobby, parking garage, indoor pool, fitness center and other common areas.

Hilton Albany now features more than 30,000 square feet of flexible function and meeting space. The function spaces have been renamed to highlight the hotel's close proximity to the State Capitol and Appellate Court, including the Appellate Room; the Hudson Ballroom; and the Governor's Ballroom, which will accommodate up to 1,600 guests for receptions and is the Capital Region's largest ballroom.

Additionally, Hilton Albany will feature three distinct dining outlets, including Charter Restaurant, a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; SESSIONS, a new lounge offering a selection of appetizers, handcrafted cocktails and local and regional beer and wine; and a café serving Starbucks products in the lobby. In-room dining is also available for hotel guests.

The well-positioned hotel offers guests convenient access within walking distance to a number of attractions, restaurants and entertainment venues in downtown Albany and offers daily complimentary shuttle service to-and-from the Albany Airport and Rensselaer Amtrak Station that provide direct access to Manhattan.

The renovation work, which began in June 2012, was completed by Turner Construction.
