Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., announced the appointment of Mary Plunkett as vice president, Global Talent Management and Development. Plunkett joined Carlson on August 7, reporting to Elizabeth Bastoni, executive vice president, chief Human Resources and Communications officer.
"Mary brings deep global experience, proven success in talent management and development and unique experience in publicly and privately held organizations that will be valuable assets to Carlson as we continue to execute our Human Resources strategy in support of Ambition 2015," said Bastoni.
In her role, Plunkett will be responsible for the talent development strategy, programs and processes for the management of the Company’s top and high potential talent to drive the delivery of global business objectives. In addition, she will be responsible for driving the work around the establishment of the Employment Value Proposition for Carlson, our engagement survey and action planning and human resources information systems.
Plunkett brings more than 20 years of talent and organizational development experience to Carlson — including senior leadership positions at Heineken, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., BP p.l.c. and Boeing Company. Plunkett has also held strategic positions in effective change management, continuous quality improvement and company cultural assessments.
Most recently, Plunkett was the global director of People and Organizational Development at Heineken, where she helped create a global performance and development culture to enable strategic business objectives, such as top line growth, market position, brand and consumer focus.
She has a doctorate in organizational psychology, Master of Science degree in applied experimental psychology and Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.
