Sales and marketing executive with expertise in deluxe boutique hotel market to oversee all aspects of sales and marketing for the two Murray Hill properties
The London-based St Giles Hotel Group, a subsidiary of St Giles Hotel, LLC and affiliate of CHM-Hotels, has appointed Bonnie Somerstein Director of Sales and Marketing for the company’s New York City hotels, the 199-room Court New York and 121-room Tuscany New York, both located on East 39th Street in the historic district of Murray Hill. The hotels, which formerly operated under the W flag, were purchased last April by St Giles Hotel Group.
A seasoned hospitality executive with over seventeen years in sales, marketing and catering at some of New York’s best known boutique hotels. Her expertise is in the corporate, group and transient segments; establishing core client base resulting in increased occupancy and RevPar.
As Director of Sales and Marketing Ms. Somerstein will oversee the sales and marketing efforts for both hotels which includes consumer leisure, meetings, incentive, corporate, executive travel and transient. She will also manage the public relations and social media efforts; as well as promotion of the hotels’ newly renovated guestrooms slated for late 2011. Prior to joining St Giles New York Hotel Ms. Somerstein directed the sales and marketing efforts at The Carlton, Bryant Park and Dream hotels. At the Dream she was an integral part of the pre-opening sales team establishing strong corporate and group client base. Other positions include director of catering and special events at the Flatotel that featured over 21,000 square foot of event space.
