Anantara Hotels Resorts and Spas proudly announce the appointment of Brett Wilson as General Manager of the new Anantara Bangkok Sathorn, the company’s first Bangkok hotel, due to open in February 2011.
With twin towers reaching 37 floors, Anantara Bangkok, Sathorn is a superb new landmark in the capital’s central business and entertainment districts, which is poised to offer business and leisure guests a new level of integrated luxury experiences.
Mr. Wilson started his career in the hotel industry with the Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation (SPHC) – one of the leading hotel groups of the Pacific Rim. He went on to secure a General Manager position very early on in his career when he joined the Rydges Hotel Group, which included a string of incredible achievements catapulting him through 13 years of notable promotions. Wilson’s career with Rydges Hotels & Resorts culminated in an Area General Manager for New South Wales role with responsibility for six hotels in the boutique brand.
His career path saw him move on to manage properties for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) where Wilson was appointed General Manager of Crowne Plaza, Queenstown. Wilson moved with IHG to spearhead the launch of the new Holiday Inn Male – IHG’s first Maldivian property and the first international hotel in the Maldivian capital, before being duly appointed General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Beijing.
Peter Carmichael, Senior Vice President, Anantara commented, “Brett has a proven track record of excellence in the hospitality industry and has accrued formidable accomplishments in diverse locations. Under his leadership we are confident that Anantara Sathorn Bangkok will grow from strength to strength.”
