In a move that fuels Trump(R) Hotel Collection's future development activity, Serena Rakhlin has been hired to fill a new position: vice president of strategic planning and hotel business development for The Trump Organization. The announcement was made today by Ivanka Trump, executive vice president of development and acquisitions.
Rakhlin is charged with strategically positioning Trump Hotel Collection for growth in new markets, fostering relations with potential partners, and identifying management contract opportunities globally for Trump-branded hotels with an initial focus on Asia-Pacific. Rakhlin joins The Trump Organization from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where she gained relevant legal experience representing lenders, developers, and investors in a variety of high profile hotel and commercial real estate transactions. She garnered earlier experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and PKF Consulting. Rakhlin earned her bachelor of science degree from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and her juris doctor from Duke University School of Law. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Cornell Innovation Network, a community of senior executives who lead strategy at their companies and share a passion for driving innovation across the hospitality and travel industries.
"We are delighted to have Serena as part of our strategic development team," said Ivanka Trump, who will work closely with Rakhlin to identify opportunities for expansion of the luxury hotel brand. "Her education and experience are an ideal fit for The Trump Organization and Trump Hotel Collection."
"In this new position for Trump Hotel Collection, Serena will work to effectively and efficiently evaluate the opportunities that present themselves and, more importantly, proactively seek management contracts that are aligned with the company's long-term strategic vision," said Jim Petrus, chief operating officer, Trump Hotel Collection. "We're pleased to have her on board."
