Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, today announced the appointment of Shaeb Ahmed Alneaimi as its first Airport Manager at Incheon International Airport (IIA) in South Korea.
Based in Seoul, Mr Alneaimi will oversee the Etihad airport office operations at IIA.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways' Chief Executive Officer, said: “Seoul is a new and important destination for Etihad, and I am delighted to have a person of the calibre of Shaeb in this pivotal position.
“Shaeb will play a vital role in establishing relations and managing operations at IIA.
“His appointment is an excellent example of the positive results of Etihad's Emiratisation strategy, which is aimed at attracting and developing top Emirati talent from across the UAE for key positions in our expanding network.”
A graduate of Aerospace Engineering from Southampton University, Mr Alneaimi joined Etihad in 2007 and received extensive training through Etihad Airways’ Emiratisation program. In 2009, he was appointed Duty Manager for the airline at London Heathrow Airport, overseeing various airport operations.
The Etihad Emiratisation program is a career development initiative for UAE nationals that offers a wide range of training opportunities and inspires a new generation of leaders. The program also helps raise the UAE national component in the private and public sector workforce in the UAE.
Etihad will operate a daily return service to Seoul from its home base in Abu Dhabi, operating Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route. The Etihad aircraft will be configured with three cabins, offering 2,800 seats each week to and from Seoul.
