New General Managers have been appointed with immediate effect at both the Swissôtel Tallinn and the Swissôtel Amsterdam. Bart Westerhout, previously General Manager at the Swissôtel Amsterdam, is moving to Tallinn and Harold Kluit, until recently the Director of Revenue & Marketing at the Swissôtel Amsterdam, will be taking up the position of General Manager there.
Bart Westerhout, General Manager, Swissôtel Tallinn, Estonia
After two and a half years as General Manager at the Swissôtel Amsterdam, Bart Westerhout is now moving within Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts to Tallinn, Estonia. Born in the Netherlands, he began his professional career in the marketing department of the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam, after graduating from the Hotel Management School in The Hague in 1984. The 49-year-old has since worked mainly in key positions in sales and marketing, and has worked as a General Manager within the four and five star hotel industry. He also worked for six years as the Director of Facilities Management in the Dutch parliament at The Hague (Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal, The Hague).
The 238-room Swissôtel Tallinn opened in December 2007 and is one of the highest buildings in the Estonian capital, with a spectacular view over the historic Old Town and the Baltic. This elegant 30-storey hotel is located in Tallinn’s financial district, the so-called “Wall Street of Tallinn”. The Old Town is a 10-minute walk away and the hotel is just 15 minutes from the station and the airport, making it ideally situated for both business and pleasure.
Harold Kluit, General Manager, Swissôtel Amsterdam, Holland
Born in the Netherlands, Harold Kluit has already worked for four years in this hotel as the Director of Revenue & Marketing before taking over as General Manager at the Swissôtel Amsterdam. As a graduate of the Hotel Management School Wageningen, the Netherlands, he began his professional career in 1997 in marketing at the Rabobank in Utrecht. Among other responsibilities, he went on to become a Sales Executive at the Amsterdam Park Hotel and an Operations & Quality Consultant in the Pescini Hotel in Siena, Italy.
The 109-room Swissôtel Amsterdam is located at the heart of the historic city centre of Amsterdam. With its 10th century façade, the hotel overlooks Dam Square and is close to many of the sights. It is just a 20-minute drive from Schiphol airport and the main railway station is only a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel. With its luxurious ambiance and lovely, tranquil atmosphere, the hotel is suitable for both business travellers and tourists alike.
