Club InterContinental Lounge Offers Exceptional Service and Breathtaking Views

The opening of the new Club InterContinental at ANA InterContinental Tokyo redefines luxury and takes elegance to a new level. After a multi- million dollar renovation over the last few months, the new Club InterContinental Lounge offers new world class facilities, exceptional service and breathtaking views of Tokyo’s major landmarks and Mount Fuji from high above the bustling metropolis below. The Club InterContinental Lounge will open on the 35th floor of the iconic city centre hotel on 10 February.

The 600-square-metre Club InterContinental lounge is Japan’s largest, and is more than three times the size of the existing lounge. This new refurbished lounge will serve as an exclusive facility for guests staying on the Club InterContinental floors. The lounge looks over Tokyo’s city centre, the Imperial Palace, the National Diet building and Roppongi Hills.

The main concept behind the design of the interior and services of the Club InterContinental lounge is “residential comfort,” and provides a chic, simple and elegant setting that provides a perfect retreat whether it is for conducting business or a place to relax and unwind. The Club InterContinental lounge is demarcated into six distinct areas: a welcome reception, library, relaxation space, dining room, bar and meeting facility. Because the lounge consists of six coexisting zones, each serving different purposes, faintly translucent partitions are used to delineate the areas. This idea derives from Japan’s traditional technique of expressing a subtle “light”—typically realised through the use of sudare (bamboo blinds) and andon (paper lanterns). The lounge as a whole is designed to serve as a living space with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The lounge also has shower suites for early arriving and late departing guests.

In addition, the hotel plans to refurbish its Club InterContinental guest floors. With a total of 198 guest rooms, the hotel will offer the upgraded facilities and services to enhance its positioning as one of the leading international luxury hotels in the capital. As well as enlarged bathrooms and enhanced functionality, the interior design is coordinated using Japan’s five traditional colours of red, black, gold, silver, and blue. Designed with a minimalist-modern touch, carefully-selected furniture and artworks featuring Japan’s traditional techniques such as lacquer ware and woodblock printing are introduced to create a contemporary sense of place.

The Club InterContinental lounge will also offer a dedicated InterContinental Concierge desk, manned by a team who are eager to share their local knowledge and recommend unique local and authentic activities including Insider Experiences, offered at every InterContinental Hotels & Resorts worldwide.
