Minor Hotel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Didier Tourneboeuf as the General Manager of the new Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Resort & Spa, Abu Dhabi.
Didier joins Anantara Qasr Al Sarab from his position as General Manager of Le Royal Méridien, Abu Dhabi where he was responsible for a considerable increase of market share over a two-year period.
Didier, who is a French national, has a very strong background in hotel openings having worked as part of the launch teams at Meridien hotels in Australia, the US, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia.
Anantara Qasr Al Sarab will offer a unique destination experience that is a passionate embodiment of the allure of the desert and all that it has to offer. Located in the renowned Empty Quarter – a vast expanse of towering sand dunes stretching from the southern reaches of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia across into Oman and the UAE – the hotel’s design will reflect the simple grandeur of an old desert fortress. The hotel is slated to open in late 2009.
Dillip Rajakarier, Chief Operating Officer of Minor Hotel Group, commented: “We are delighted that Didier has joined the Anantara team. His background in hotel openings is second to none and his experience of the UAE market will be a great asset to us as we move towards our second launch in Abu Dhabi. Didier will be instrumental in cementing Anantara’s position as one of the top emerging players on the worldwide hotel stage.”
Didier is a graduate of the renowned Strasbourg Hotel School in Switzerland and is married with a grown-up son.
