Carlson Hotels Worldwide appoints Stephanie Beyer as Vice President of Human Resources

Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced the appointment of Stephanie Beyer to the position of vice president of Human Resources. Beyer reports directly to Jay Witzel, president and chief executive officer of Carlson Hotels Worldwide. Beyer served most recently as senior director of human resources, Traveler and Transaction Services, for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a sister company within Carlson

Beyer will begin her new role on January 1, 2009 and will be responsible for overseeing human resources policies, training and development programs for Carlson Hotels Worldwide whose five brands include: Regent Hotels & Resorts (regenthotels.com); Radisson Hotels & Resorts® (radisson.com), Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts (parkplaza.com), Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM (countryinns.com) and Park Inn® (parkinn.com).

“Stephanie brings a wealth of experience in human resources from Carlson corporate and two of its divisions, as well as from other industries, that will add great value to our business leadership, organizational effectiveness and performance,” said Witzel. “A key component of our strategy is leadership excellence and employee engagement and she has extensive expertise in coaching and counseling senior leaders, recruitment and retention of diverse talent and aligning human resource excellence with business needs.”

Beyer has been with Carlson for six and a half years. Prior to her role at Carlson Wagonlit Travel, she served as senior director of Workforce Planning & Recruitment for Carlson and was responsible for leadership of the Carlson Recruitment Center of Expertise and enterprise wide projects related to recruitment and workforce planning. Before that, she served as a director and then senior director of Human Resources for the Carlson Marketing Group.

Before joining Carlson, she held human resources management positions at Accenture, Damark International, Inc. and General Mills, Inc. Beyer has a Masters of Arts degree in Labor and Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also has a Senior HR Professional (SPHR) certification. She has been recognized with a Carlson HR Leader Award and named among the “25 on the Rise” from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Minnesota, Latino leaders in Minnesota. She has participated in the Blanchard Executive Coaching program, a year-long executive coaching relationship to enhance leadership capability.
