Rocco Forte’s Brown’s Hotel’s Deputy Head Concierge, Ashley Harman, was named ‘Concierge of the Year – London’ at the Morris Golden Keys Concierge awards on 13 October 2008 - and is the first to ever receive the accolade.
The award was introduced to recognise the individual whose exemplary track record and dedication to the industry have commanded the respect of the hospitality sector. Ashley, who joined Brown’s Hotel in 2005 and has also worked at the Intercontinental Hotel, the Royal Garden Hotel and Sheraton Belgravia Hotel. Ashley was competing against all of London’s Golden Keys Concierge including Manuel de Brito at The Dorchester and Rashid Ali at The Langham – both of whom were runners-up.
Brown’s Hotel’s General Manager, Stuart Johnson nominated Ashley, with Mr Johnson commenting: “Ashley delivers outstanding levels of service to our guests and is always prepared to go that extra mile. Just one example of this is when an airline lost the luggage of one of our regular guests; Ashley purchased a replacement suitcase and filled it with everything the guest would need for entire stay, from business suits to golfing attire – and all to the guest’s exacting taste. This is typical of Ashley’s commitment to his profession.”
