Tailored Treatments Reflect the Growing Diversity of Spa Clientele

To create truly unique and memorable experiences for today’s highly diverse and discerning guests, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the global contemporary luxury brand, has enhanced, upgraded and emboldened spa amenities at select hotels and resorts around the world. The result is a more creative, personalised and destination-inspired portfolio of pampering treatments that meets the needs of business and leisure guests alike.

The International Spa Association reports that there were approximately 111 million spa visits in the United States alone in 2006 - more than the total attendance for Major League Baseball and the English Premier League combined in that same year. Conrad spas around the world are also attracting a wider variety of clientele, with more traffic from men, women and adolescents alike.

Richard Blamey, Senior Vice President, Brand Management, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, says: “At Conrad, the customer is royalty. We recognise their needs and ensure these are
reflected in the diversity of our spa offerings which include a variety of destination-based treatments. Our emphasis is to provide guests with a luxurious and highly individual spa experience.”

Conrad spas offer the following:
• Conrad Tokyo: Water and Moon, two of nature’s most calming symbols, are key design elements at the Conrad Tokyo Mizuki Spa. One of the largest hotel spas of its kind in the city, it offers 10 treatment rooms, panoramic views of the city skyline and Tokyo’s only true Hinoki bath – a tub made out of beautiful Hinoki cypress, with a rich grain, smooth texture and the subtle scent of cypress. Mizuki Spa’s signature treatment, the ‘Mizuki Spirit,’ includes a deep soak in the Hinoki bath, a massage using bamboo sticks, and a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.

• Conrad Maldives Rangali Island: The resort offers three incredible spa facilities,
including The Spa Retreat, the first destination spa in the country. This self-contained resort-within-a-resort boasts 21 spacious Spa Water Villas, each with their own private
treatment room; a central spa comprising nine treatment rooms; five private pavilions with sauna and steam room and Jacuzzi or private plunge pool; an organic bio-dynamic
spa restaurant; hair salon; juice bar; and a natural herbal dispensary. The Over-Water Spa complements the therapies in the Spa Retreat with a menu offering fun and lavish couple’s rituals. Aphrodisia, Tantalise, Entice, Tempt and Tease each
offer their own signature blend of bliss; the half day ‘Aphrodisia’ ritual, for example, comes complete with Bollinger Champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries. The new Ice Cream Spa, designed entirely for the youngest spa-goers, is designed to look like an old-fashioned Ice Cream Parlour. The spa offers manicures and pedicures and body scrubs and body massages, using products from the Me! Bath range, which look and smell as enticing as if they had come from an Ice Cream Van. Signature treatments include ‘Clean Me Up’ and ‘Calm Me Down’ facials, perfect for comforting teenage skin problems and calming sunburn.

• Conrad Bali: Voted “Best Resort Spa” at the Spa Asia Crystal Awards in 2006, the Jiwa Spa at the Conrad Bali emphasises water and garden-based aromatherapy treatments that connect with Bali’s tropical, oceanic vibe. The spa’s signature treatment, Ocean Flow, is based around rhythmic strokes of acupressure akin to the movements of ocean waves. Along with twelve treatment rooms and a reflexology center, the Jiwa Spa also offers a unique kids spa menu that includes a feisty Back Scratch treatment.

• Conrad Bangkok: The Conrad Bangkok Seasons Spa combines the ancient art of healing with modern techniques to harness the power of the human touch. Amongst its repertoire of local Thai remedies, the 4.5 hour ‘Sense of Seasons’ treatment reigns supreme with its bath ritual, a seasonal scrub and wrap, a massage, a facial and a bounty of healthy spa cuisine.

• Conrad Miami: The recently renovated Conrad Miami Spa Chakra™ is best known for providing guests with highly tailored treatments according to the results of a pretreatment questionnaire. The new look spa offers 10 treatment rooms, hydrotherapy and Vichy shower facilities and Spa Chakra’s state-of-the-art footbath and relaxation
lounges. The Men’s Firming Abdomen Treatment, which unblocks accumulation of lipids around the abs while forming and toning the skin, highlights the spa’s commitment to offering treatments geared towards men.

• Conrad Indianapolis: Home of the “Best Facial” in Indianapolis (according to Indianapolis Monthly) Spa Chakra™ at the Conrad Indianapolis also focuses on tailoring therapies to meet the needs of each and every guest. All of Spa Chakra’s facials include a 19-minute facial massage, deep cleansing, exfoliation, pore extractions, and a nourishing mask. Spa Chakra’s ‘Fassage’ includes a 60-minute facial and a 60-minute full body massage.

• Conrad Punta del Este: Beauty, sports and fun are all priorities in the eight treatment rooms at the Conrad Punta del Este Spa. The spa specialises in unique
wrap treatments, including Spa Marine Deluxe Chocolate, a delicious cacao-based body wrap; Spa Marine Deluxe Grape, based on the anti-oxidant properties of grape extract; and Spa Marine Spice, a sweet-smelling wrap with saffron, cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom.

• Conrad Centennial Singapore: Within the Conrad Centennial Singapore’s private treatment rooms, guests are apt to choose the traditional Tui Na Massage, which utilizes the ancient Chinese therapy Tiu Na, or “push” and “pull.” The treatment combines both massage and acupressure through a range of vigorous techniques, including squeezing, pushing, pulling and kneading to stimulate key pressure points.

• Mount Juliet Conrad: The Spa at Mount Juliet Conrad offers a unique Dead Sea Discovery Flotation room. Guests can drift off for a deeply relaxing 60 minute Dead Sea Floatation Treatment that decreases stress and lowers blood pressure while floating in zero gravity. Also available is the popular La Stone Therapy, which incorporates heated basalt stones and chilled marble into an aromatherapy massage to invigorate and relax the body.

• Conrad Brussels: The spa at the Conrad Brussels, situated right in the heart of Brussels, is located within Aspria Avenue Louise health club and provides a refuge from the city. The Spa offers a range of impressive amenities, including a 17-metre swimming pool, beauty studio, sauna, solarium, six treatment rooms, over 60 treatments including a hot stone aromatherapy and a “Windows of the Soul” eye treatment, spa bath, Jacuzzi, relaxation room, dance studio, and a magnificent health food juice bar.
