As Thailand’s most inspirational resort, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai is delighted to present four new, unique and exciting children’s programmes, that are sure to delight.
The four new programmes, designed for children aged 6 to twelve years at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi’s Lanna Kids Club, offer fun and stimulating options with a diverse range of activities in health and well being, art and local culture:
Jumbo Keeper – Adopt an elephant for a day and learn to care for it, by riding on its back, cleaning it and understanding its behaviour. The elephant farm is about 40 minutes from the resort and the program includes roundtrip transfers, training and lunch. (07:30 am to 2:00 pm.) THB 4,200 per person.
Muay Thai for Kids – This fun and healthy activity, gives children an introduction to Thai boxing combined with yoga, a fun way to combine martial arts while improving body stretching and movement. THB 800 per person
A Night in the Jungle - This two and a half hour activity takes place in the world-class ‘Night Safari’ situated 20 minutes away from the resort. Families will enjoy a ride through the Predator and Savannah trails to see different wild animals in their natural habitat. THB 4,000 for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children).
The Little Chef - Cooking Classes for kids – a fun way to learn about the different kinds of vegetables and herbs grown in the resort's vegetable garden and to join a hands-on cooking class with Executive Chef Dominique Bugnand. THB 1,500 per person including lunch.
“In keeping with the resort’s commitment to authentic Thai culture, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi’s programs for kids centre on traditional Thai arts and local activities, providing both a fun environment and a stimulating learning experience,” says Mr Mark Bradford, General Manager of the resort.
Named as “Hideaway of the Year” in Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report 2006, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi is a recreation of a Chiang, or a self contained city. Traditional Thai homes, ornate palace-like structures and colonial mansions faithfully represent an architectural history of the diverse region which Lanna originally spanned.
