Committed to making every hour special, the Hotel has curated an authentic Swiss experience alongside the expressive watchmaker, Roger Dubuis, which takes guests into the heart of high horology and opens their eyes, as well as their tastebuds, to the sublime art of craftsmanship.
There is no better place in the world than the glistening shores of Lake Geneva to begin an exploration of Switzerland’s famous savoir-faire. While the Hotel’s central location offers the perfect urban getaway, it also provides the ideal starting point for an enlightening journey of discovery.
The half-day Watchmaking and Whisky Experience begins with a private tour of the Roger Dubuis manufacture. Here, surrounded by masterful mechanics and fervent creativity, guests can witness the Maison’s bold approach to watchmaking, known as Hyper Horology, which combines the finest traditions with daring innovation. It’s a chance to uncover the cutting-edge of Swiss ingenuity and see exactly how Roger Dubuis engineers its prestigious calibres from start to finish.
The morning then moves beyond the viewing floor, as guests are given the chance to test their own watchmaking skills, by carefully assembling and disassembling the components of an intricate Roger Dubuis movement.
one might expect with a Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva experience, this is a moment of exquisite attention-to-detail. A steady hand and a precise touch can make all the difference. To truly get a feel for Roger Dubuis’ signature design, guests are finally presented with a variety of the Maison’s most emblematic timepieces, allowing them to admire the hand-finished aesthetics on their own wrist.
Relaxation is then on the menu, as the experience turns its attention to craftsmanship of a different kind. After returning to Four Seasons Hotel de Bergues Geneva, Beverage Director Salvatore Salerno will guide guests through an exceptional Michel Couvreur whisky, bottled especially for Roger Dubuis. In keeping with the spirt of tradition and innovation, this distinctive whisky is aged in a single Xérés wine cask in Burgundy, where it develops a rich complexity filled with smokiness and subtlety. Salvatore’s expert mixology is expressed through his own unique cocktail creation, served alongside a selection of Izumi’s signature bites, prepared by the Hotel’s Japanese chef, Toshikazu Kato.
