Crédit photo © Visit Maldives Dusit Thani Maldives is delighted to announce the appointment of Laura Allevi as the new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, effective immediately. Laura, who holds a Master of Arts in Sustainable Tourism Management from the Sustainability Management School (SUMAS), brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for environmental stewardship, making her the perfect fit to lead the resort’s ambitious sustainability programmes.
In her new role, Laura will spearhead Dusit Thani Maldives’ commitment to sustainable practices across all aspects of operations, including community outreach, environmental conservation, and educational initiatives. With a strong academic background and experience in sustainable tourism, Laura will play a crucial role in further embedding sustainability into the heart of the resort’s guest experiences and operations.
Speaking about her appointment, Laura said:
“I am honoured to join Dusit Thani Maldives and to have the opportunity to contribute to the resort’s meaningful sustainability journey. The Maldives is an iconic destination, and I look forward to working with the local community and our guests to protect and preserve the natural environment while creating a positive social impact.”
Tree of Life Sustainable Programme
Dusit Thani Maldives is part of the Tree of Life Sustainable Programme, an integral aspect of the Dusit Thani brand’s commitment to sustainability. Under this programme, Dusit properties worldwide strive to create environmentally responsible experiences that are both enriching for guests and beneficial for the local communities. The Tree of Life initiative encompasses various projects, including marine conservation, energy and water conservation, waste management, and biodiversity protection.
As part of this initiative, Laura will oversee projects such as coral reef restoration, beach clean ups, and energy-saving efforts across the resort. Additionally, she will implement educational programmes aimed at raising awareness of sustainability among guests, team members, and local communities.
