As Cycas continues its rapid growth and approaches 50 hotels under management, the company is celebrating the appointment of key senior operational team members across Europe.
In the UK, Chris Thomas has joined the team at Moxy & Residence Inn Slough, moving from his previous role as General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott London City Airport.
The move marks Chris’ fourth position within Cycas Hospitality, having first joined the company back in 2014 as Director of Sales at the flagship Holiday Inn & Staybridge Suites London Stratford.
As Chris moves into his position in Slough, Philip Steiner has been appointed General Manager of Bankside Hotel. Philip first joined Cycas in 2018 as Director of Accommodations & Serviced Apartments, before becoming General Manager for Moxy & Residence Inn by Marriott Slough, successfully opening two hotels outside London at the height of the pandemic.
Pedro Mendes becomes General Manager of Courtyard London City Airport, after initially joining Cycas as interim General Manager at Moxy & Residence Inn Amsterdam Houthavens last year.
A seasoned hotelier with over 20 years’ international hospitality experience, Pedro brings extensive brand knowledge to the role, following previous roles with IHG, Whitbread and Pentahotels.
Across London, Scott Jakins has taken over the reins of Staybridge Suites London-Vauxhall, which has recently gone undergone renovations of its public areas, meeting room and a number of guest bedrooms.
Over the last 20 years Scott has built up his operational expertise working across key properties in both Australia and the United Kingdom, for major brands including Hilton, IHG and TAJ.
As Cycas expands into Scotland’s major cities, Marc Jones is one of the newest General Managers to join the Cycas team, as he prepares to open the upcoming Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh Haymarket later this year.
With over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Marc brings in-depth knowledge of the Scottish market, following roles across the country in central locations including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Over in Europe, supporting Cycas’ expanding presence within the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport region, Xavier Perret has taken over the running of the dual-branded Hyatt House & Hyatt Place Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The hotels comprise one of two double-decker hotels managed by Cycas on the doorstep of one of Europe’s busiest airports and Xavier brings a wealth of both operational and financial experience within the hotel industry to the role.
In Deventer, Khalid Gaddur has joined Cycas, successfully opening the first Holiday Inn Express with a ‘suites’ offering in the Netherlands late last year.
Khalid joins the team with over 20 years' experience in the Dutch market, following roles with Floris Hotel Collection and Radisson.
With the ibis Styles brand making its debut in the Nordics, Louise Adolph joins Cycas as General Manager of the design-led ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad, in one of the city’s most up and coming areas.
Louise has over 22 years of hospitality experience in the region, having previously worked with Choice Hotels, Scandic and First Hotels.
