Along with the ITB Berlin Convention, which will take place as an entirely virtual event from 8 to 10 March 2022, and two networking events planned for the summer at European host destinations, the Digital Business Day on 17 March 2021 will be a major attraction for the global tourism community.
As a networking platform, besides one-on-one networking opportunities and audio-video meetings, it also offers information on global travel trends and forecasts as well as on-demand corporate news and automated speed-dating.Virtual state-of-the-art platform for networking and dialogueThe Digital Business Day is a further addition to the ITB brand family, and as well as attracting existing customers enables buyers and providers to network, maintain close customer ties and secure new customers. The virtual format is a catalyst for business networks and focuses on business and networking.
It also gives companies sponsorship options, as there are no virtual display areas. The format is augmented by the IPK’s World Monitor with global trends and forecasts for 2022 as well as company presentations from the on-demand programme.
The user-friendly platform makes it easy to network and update personal profiles. All users can list their business interests in advance, based on which they will receive contact suggestions so they can then exchange views and do business at audio-video meetings. They can also take part in two one-hour Speed Networking sessions at which, based on their interests, they will automatically be assigned several meeting partners.
“Our industry has always been a genuine people’s business – of which networking is an essential part“, said David Ruetz, head of ITB. “The Digital Business Day offers the industry both an effective and simple instrument for networking and developing common goals in these challenging times. I am confident the platform will be very well received and will significantly help to conclude many successful business deals.”Ticket shop opens soonFor buyers and the media attendance is free. For suppliers admission is 29 euros. Tickets are available from mid-February when the ticket shop officially opens on itb.com.
15 and 16 March are Onboarding Days. These will allow users to access the networking tool and create/update a profile before the actual event.
During this phase they can also make prior appointments. On the date of the event, 17 March, the platform will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Throughout the day users can attend audio-video meetings and will have on-demand access to fascinating sessions. In addition, 60-minute Speed Networking sessions are planned for the mornings and afternoons.About ITB Berlin and the ITB Berlin ConventionSince 1966, ITB Berlin has been the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. The ITB Berlin Convention, the largest event of its kind, will be held in the period originally scheduled as an entirely virtual event on the new brand website itb.com. On 17 March the Digital Business Day will give the industry an opportunity to exchange views and do business in a virtual setting from anywhere in the world. As a virtual industry marketplace, it is a further addition to the ITB brand family and rounds off the trade show concept. With its new concept, ITB Berlin is planning a total of two in-person satellite events in various markets in summer 2022. 3,513 exhibitors from 120 countries were represented at the virtual edition of ITB Berlin NOW 2021 for the duration of the event. Some 65,700 users visited the new online platform, around two-thirds of whom were from abroad. In 2019 around 10,000 exhibitors from 181 countries displayed their products and services to 160,000 visitors, including 113,500 trade visitors.
