THE REVERIE SAIGON SETS NEW SUSTAINABILITY BENCHMARKS IN VIETNAM (Viêt Nam)

The iconic Reverie Saigon has become the first hotel in Vietnam to be awarded both the prestigious ISO 14001:2015 standard for environmental management systems and the ISO 50001:2011 for energy management systems – including being the only mixed-use development in Vietnam to achieve the latter.

The Reverie Saigon’s ISO 14001:2015 certification verifies its ability to measure its environmental impact while the ISO 50001:2011 certification recognises its implementation of procedures and protocols to continually improve energy efficiency and consumption – which, in 2019, resulted in a 3% reduction in electricity usage and an 18% reduction of water consumption compared to the previous year.

Some of the hotel’s green initiatives include installing water-conserving fixtures in all guest bathrooms, replacing all plastic rubbish bags in-room with 100% compostable ones and using solar panels to heat its water supply. Additionally, the hotel has made a conscious effort to limit the use of electricity by using only LED bulbs throughout the entire property and by re-organising the flow of work in its various kitchens in order to achieve optimum efficiency.

The Reverie Saigon has been driving industry standards on a national level since we first opened in 2015. We are the only member of The Leading Hotels of The World in Vietnam and now, thanks to a collective effort by all colleagues and the entire management team, we are proudly the first building in the country to be both ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2011 certified,” said VP of Resource Planning and Development for WMC Group, James Young.

This achievement allows us to be at the forefront of sustainability in Vietnam – the environment is a collective challenge, which we need to work on together. At the same time, our guests can rest assured knowing that while efforts are continuously being made to minimise our impact on the environment, none of the measures taken negatively affect the luxury stay experience that they’ve become accustomed to at The Reverie Saigon.”

Commanding the upper and lower floors of the 39-storey Times Square Building in Ho Chi Minh City’s prestigious District 1, the award-winning property was recently lauded as one of the ‘Top 20 Hotels in Asia’ in Condé Nast Traveler (USA) magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2019.

About The Reverie Saigon

A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Reverie Saigon offers a truly astonishing hotel experience – showcasing extravagant, unapologetic European opulence in a storied Asian setting. The dazzling hotel features 286 rooms and suites alongside 89 residential-style suites, all of which are among the largest in the city and feature incomparable views of the Saigon River and the city skyline.

Renowned Italian brands furnished the rooms and suites and set the ambiance with exquisite and, in some cases, one-of-a-kind pieces. The property features five distinctive food and beverage outlets, a 1,200-square-metre spa & fitness centre, an expansive outdoor swimming pool and a range of versatile function spaces. In addition, guests have a fleet of over a dozen luxury automobiles at their disposal as well as exclusive access to the hotel’s very own yacht.
The Reverie Saigon is located in the 164-metre-tall Times Square Building, a mixed-use development, which includes eight storeys of premium office space and the showrooms of some of the same high-end Italian furniture brands whose pieces are featured throughout the hotel.
