IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced a transformation of its Europe Sales Team designed around key market opportunities, which will position the company for accelerated growth across European markets.
Under the leadership of Debbie Male, Head of Sales for Europe, the new teams will be based in offices in key European cities to reinforce IHG’s commercial sales and B2B presence across these markets.
The move builds on IHG’s market-leading group sales and conference returns for hotel Owners and will further increase the delivery of pipeline commercial sales. The new structure will ensure that sales teams have the right experience and language skills relevant to the local market. In addition to identifying new business opportunities, the teams will continue to work closely with new and existing partners to drive long-term revenue.
Jean-Charles Denis, VP Commercial, Europe, commented: “IHG is building momentum across Europe through the development of our existing portfolio as well as the launch of exciting new brands. The new Europe Sales Team will play a key role in identifying new commercial opportunities and further accelerating the growth in returns for all our Owners across our European markets.”
Debbie Male, Head of Sales, Europe, commented: “We’ve got such a strong portfolio of brands and properties in Europe that can meet the needs of many of our clients looking for new groups, meetings and sales opportunities. With this new structure, we’re well placed to deliver these benefits and we look forward to working with our partners to accelerate revenue growth for all.”
The transformation comes at an exciting time for IHG’s European business, which has played a significant role in driving the highest number of signings and openings for the company in 10 years. Further opportunities lie in the strong growth of new upscale brand voco and new mainstream brand avid, the expansion of luxury boutique brand Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and the recent acquisition of wellness and sustainability brand Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, which sits in the top-tier of luxury.
