He arrives from China, where he was most recently Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip.
“With his international background and flair for outstanding service, Gonçalo is the perfect person to assemble and lead our team as we look ahead to the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Montreal next year,” says Vince Parrotta, President, Hotel Operations – Americas, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Originally joining the family of Four Seasons in his native Lisbon 20 years ago, Gonçalo honed his hospitality skills in the food and beverage division across Europe before moving to Asia in 2010, first as Director of Food and Beverage before being promoted to Hotel Manager in 2014.
“Montreal is a city of artists and innovators, not to mention a population that is as passionate about cuisine as its beloved Canadiens hockey team,” says Gonçalo, who is fluent in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish. “There’s a unique energy and spirit here, and we are excited to share the experience with visitors to the city as well as the local community who we can’t wait to welcome to our restaurant and bar, our spa and our event spaces.”About Four Seasons Hotel MontrealSet to open in spring 2019, the 168-room Hotel and 18 Four Seasons Private Residences are located downtown in the city’s Golden Mile Square, connected to Holt Renfrew Ogilvy. Just ten minutes by foot from the Bell Centre, five minutes by car from the train station and twenty minutes from the airport, Four Seasons is ideally located for international visitors, regional weekenders and business travellers. In addition to a chef-driven signature restaurant and bar, the Hotel will offer an intimate spa and state-of-the-art fitness centre, a skylit indoor pool and a stunning fifth floor ballroom with outdoor terrace.
Architects of Four Seasons Hotel Montreal are Lemay and Sid Lee Architecture, both of Montreal; Hotel interiors are by Paris based Gilles & Boissier, with restaurant and lounge by Montreal firm Atelier Zébulon Perron. Four Seasons Private Residences interiors are by Montreal-based architect and designer Philip Hazan.
Four Seasons Hotel Montreal will join sister properties in Toronto, Vancouver and Whistler in the Canadian-based company’s cross country collection of award-winning hotels.
