Approximately one third of the islands are uninhabited, ranging in size from 3,800 square miles (10,000 square kilometers) to tiny islands or spits of sand a few hundred acres (meters) in circumference.
Known for its idyllic crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, thick tropical forests and excellent climate, Six Senses Fiji is located on a superb beach site on Fiji’s Malolo Island. Six Senses Fiji will feature 24 spacious pool villas ranging in size from 800 square feet (74 square meters) to 1,950 square feet (180 square meters) and 66 residential villas situated on the west side of the island. The resort is located along a sandy beach that stretches 2,100 feet (650 meters).
The property will include a restaurant and bar plus a wine cellar and tasting table. Locally inspired and sustainably sourced, the resort’s cuisine will feature ingredients gathered from the resort garden, local farmers, markets and fishermen.
A Six Senses Spa is planned which will offer a layered approach to wellness that unites a pioneering spirit with treatments that go beyond ordinary. At Six Senses, guests will find an intuitive mix of science and human awareness, where our high-tech and high-touch approach defines a service that is crafted around the individual.
Multi-dimensional Six Senses Integrated Wellness program will be featured and starts with a wellness assessment that evaluates a number of different and important bio-markers. Results allow the spa team to determine behavioral and lifestyle change and create a personalized program based on the needs of the guest. Created by the Six Senses Spas team along with respected medical doctors - Dr. Michael Breus for sleep, Dr. Steven Gundry for nutrition and Dr. Mehmet Oz for overall health, each guest’s personalized program may include spa treatments, exercise, yoga, meditation and sleep tips and guidance.
Sustainability lives at the foundation of this Six Senses project and will be reflected within the resort through active management of energy, water, waste, biodiversity, purchasing and chemical usage. The resort will be 100 percent solar powered and the first microgrid in Fiji to use Tesla batteries. In addition, a worm-based septic system is planned as well as water reservoirs for grey and rainwater which avoids the need for a desalination plant. The project includes tree reforestation on site to offset wood use in construction. The resort will feature all LED lights to ensure the highest levels in LED efficiency.
The facility will also include a gym, club house and kid’s club. Activities on offer will include boating, sailing, diving, snorkeling and tennis.
The 66 Six Senses residences offer panoramic sea or marina views. A full-service marina is located adjacent to the resort and will be available for private yachts.
Six Senses Fiji is slated to open late 2017. Easy access is available from Nadi International Airport, a 30-minute journey by boat from Denaadaru Marina, 30-minute helicopter flight or 20-minute seaplane flight.
