As the world of tourism changes fast, AccorHotels aims to increase its agility in new businesses. To this end, Thibault Viort has been appointed Chief Disruption and Growth Officer as of April 1^st 2016. This new position is meant to accompany these transformations.

In this capacity, Thibault Viort’s main missions will be to:

- Track down new opportunities of growth for the Group in order to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs, both in and outside the Group ;
- Oversee investments or acquisitions in emerging activities ;
- Reinforce interactions with start-ups that re-invent the sector, at a time when the current networking of humanity shakes up every sectors, of which the hospitality industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Sébastien Bazin, AccorHotels’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, declared: « As part of our transformation journey, we are building up new streams of activity with the ambition to discover new business opportunities so as to create value and enhance creativity in the way we conduct our business. Thibault Viort, aged 43 and graduated from EPITA in 1996, is a serial entrepreneur who built up his first business at age 22. With a proven capacity to track down new trends way upstream, he created Facebook’s very first online games (Is Cool Entertainment) in 2008, anticipated the momentum taken by Big Data with the creation of Ysance in 2005 and specialized in tourism as of 2009 with the creation of Wipolo and the transformation of City Vox.
For more than twenty years, Thibault has been sharing his experience through classes at the Ecole Polytechnique and by operating as a tutor for many start-ups (Openclassrooms, Codingames …).
