Now, Hong Kong’s own Grande Dame, The Peninsula Hong Kong, is offering guests the opportunity to experience the gold standard with an indulgent new treatment launching at The Peninsula Spa this April: the Instant Light Complexion Facial from Margy's Monte Carlo featuring a 24-Carat Gold Chain Mask.
Launched exclusively in Hong Kong at The Peninsula in June 2015, Margy’s Monte Carlo is a groundbreaking anti-ageing programme created by pioneering beauty expert Margie Lombard and favoured by many of the world's most glamorous and famous women. Featuring a range of rejuvenating and skin-balancing products and treatments, the brand has already inspired a dedicated fan base in Asia. Particularly popular has been the Ultimate Aesthetic Facial Treatment by Margy’s, a cutting-edge therapy that delivers immediate wrinkle-reducing and skin-tightening results by focusing monopolar radio frequencies and ultrasound on the dermis to stimulate collagen growth.
Taking the facial to even greater heights, and in keeping with the opulence, glitz and refinement of sun-kissed Monaco, Margy’s Instant Light Complexion Facial takes advantage of the unique properties of gold to revitalise the skin. Priced at HK $3,900*, the 90-minute treatment is suitable for all skin types and designed to slow down collagen depletion and the breakdown of elastin, resulting in an instant brightening effect.

By using a gold chain mask to transmit electro-acoustic signals and conduct ions, the facial stimulates cellular growth on the skin’s basal layer, while special software allows the therapist to change how the mask behaves by choosing between programmes that respectively detox, stimulate, regenerate or illuminate the skin. The gold also improves blood circulation, restores elasticity to skin tissue, fights inflammation, reduces dryness and renews cells. The Instant Light Complexion Facial is the only treatment of its kind in the world.
Says Ms Lombard: “I am delighted to bring our Instant Light Complexion Facial to The Peninsula, following hot on the heels of the launch of the Margy’s Monte Carlo programme at the iconic hotel last year. Our system relies on using rare active ingredients and high-quality, Swiss-made products administered by knowledgeable, highly trained therapists, and we have been thrilled by the response of customers in Hong Kong and around the region to our state-of-the-art treatments. That’s why we have chosen to once again partner with The Peninsula Spa to introduce this exclusive facial treatment, which regenerates and tightens skin, to Asia.”
About Margy’s Monte Carlo Located a stone’s throw from the famous Casino de Monte Carlo, Margy’s Monte Carlo was established in 1993 by renowned cosmetologist Margie Lombard. Drawing on her 20-year career at the forefront of the luxury beauty industry, Lombard was inspired to create the finest products and most advanced and effective treatments for her growing international clientele. Lombard’s career began when she obtained her license at the prestigious Carita School in Paris and went on to serve as head of the Mabrouk Institut Esthétique in Gstaad, Switzerland, before opening her first beauty institute in Monaco in 1988. Lombard was one of the first specialists to use collagen and hyaluronic acid in her products, and remains passionate about making beautiful skin a reality for all her clients.
Containing all the basic biometric ingredients and active compounds that make up the skin’s structure, Margy’s products work to limit the damage caused by aggressors, such as inflammation, ensuring that the skin remains balanced, hydrated and in optimum condition. A best-kept secret of the international jet set, Margy’s Monte Carlo boasts a client list that includes such esteemed names as Shirley Bassey, Claudia Schiffer, Tina Turner and Princess Charlene of Monaco, many of whom have been using the programme for years.
