Viceroy Santa Monica, the flagship property of Viceroy Hotel Group, announces the appointment of Michael Platt to General Manager. Michael joins Viceroy Santa Monica with extensive luxury hospitality experience.
Michael’s previous experience includes a vast travel and client services background. He has held executive level operational positions at hotel groups such as St. Regis Beverly Hills and the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. In the past, Michael has lent his expertise to rebrand luxury properties and streamline operations, while simultaneously increasing revenue and guest satisfaction.

Viceroy Santa Monica recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary, where the property unveiled unique programming that included special travel rates, anniversary events and culinary menus. Michael’s experience in the luxury hospitality industry will bring a new vision to the management at the Viceroy Santa Monica property, inspiring the staff to strive for continued guest satisfaction and excellence across the board.
The 162 room hotel features a crisp, modern exterior and a British Regency-inspired style designed by Kelly Wearstler. The property is renowned for its classic sophistication and contemporary chic design with a color palette of parrot green, driftwood gray and wavecrest white throughout the hotel. Viceroy Santa Monica is also home to Whist Restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Tony DiSalvo. A legendary destination of its own, Whist specializes in season-inspired dishes ranging from bites to shared plates, all inspired by the freshest produce at the local Farmer’s Market.
