Angelini, the Italian restaurant at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, presents world renowned Italian chef Andrea Berton as guest chef between 7 and 11 November 2012. Chef Andrea will preside over the kitchen of Angelini alongside the restaurant’s head chef, Marco Medaglia, and showcase his culinary skills in a specially designed menu.

Recognised as one of the most important chefs in Italy, Chef Andrea has perfected both the traditional and innovative cooking styles he learned in various prestigious establishments in London, Florence, Monte Carlo and his native country of Italy, alongside such notable chefs as Alain Ducasse, Carlo Cracco and Gualtiero Marchesi. With his culinary expertise, the acclaimed Chef Andrea helped Il Ristorante Trussardi alla Scala in Milan to get a two-star rating in the Michelin Guide in 2009, “three forks” in the Gambero Rosso Guide in 2010 and “three chef hats” in the Espresso Guide in 2011. Now an executive chef and food consultant, he works closely with fine restaurants in developing creative strategies in the areas of positioning and menu designing.

“My food is straightforward and direct. The techniques I employ must always bring out and enhance the distinctive flavour of each of the fine ingredients that I use. What I create is a harmonious balance, so that no ingredient will be overshadowed by the others,” said Chef Andrea.

Foodies, gourmets and casual taste-seekers alike can indulge in a memorable meal co created by Chef Andrea and Chef Marco, who will interact with guests throughout the evening. Guests can opt to have a six-course or seven-course dinner menu. The fine dining journey will begin with Eggplant Parmigiana, followed by Raw Shrimp with Mojito Cream and Crispy Tapioca, then Risotto with Scallops, Taggiasche Olives and Capper Powder. For the main course, diners can choose between Black Cod with Fish Mayonnaise and Burned Onion, and Duck Breast with Rocket Cream, Spicy Tomato Marmalade and Fried Panizza. Guests can end the meal on a sweet note with Extra Virgin Olive Oil Flavoured Macaroons and Tiramisu in the Glass.

The six-course dinner menu is priced at only HK$980 per person and HK$1,250 per person with wine pairings, and the seven-course dinner menu is priced at just HK$1,180 per person and HK$1,400 per person with wine pairings.

Angelini delivers authentic Italian cuisine using only the finest ingredients of the season, accompanied with an extensive wine list of over 100 Italian wines. Guests are welcome to enquire for wine suggestions to complement their dishes. Situated on the mezzanine floor with panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, Angelini combines a comfortable and inviting ambience with stylish, contemporary decor.
