Kempinski Hotels, Europe's oldest luxury hotel group who has been managing 12 properties in the China market, is set to launch a new hotel in Shanghai in second half of the year. THE ONE Executive Suites , managed by Kempinski – Shanghai invested by Golden Union Group, will be an all-suite hotel and residence in Shanghai, offering guests a luxury home-like staying experience in one of the world's fastest growing metropolises.

THE ONE is located in the business center of Jing'an District, five minutes' walk from the upscale shops and metro station on Nanjing Xi Lu, Shanghai's busiest commercial area which is known as "China's No.1 Street" to many locals, tourists and expats. The hotel is just a short taxi ride to Pudong's business district, Xintiandi, the Bund, the former French Concession, making it accessible to almost anywhere else in the center of Shanghai.

Designed by world-renowned hospitality interior design firm HBA, THE ONE achieves a unique avant-garde style with a mix of contemporary pieces, traditional Chinese and European Art Deco design elements. It offers 244 spacious guest suites and private residences, which, ranging between 62-600 square meters, are among the largest in the city. A choice of studio, one-, two- or three-bedroom suite accommodations are equipped with high-speed wireless Internet, flat-screen televisions, and connections for MP3 players and iPods. Each suite's expansive bathroom has separate rain showers and bathtubs and features state-of-art fittings from Germany, while a fully furnished kitchen or kitchenette is stocked with a full range of European style cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery, creating a perfect home for guests.

"THE ONE is created to offer a different option for corporate guests in a city abundant of cookie-cutter luxury hotels: a spacious, home-like space in which to relax, without sacrificing the comfort of a five-star hotel," said Karina Ansos, General Manager of THE ONE Executive Suites managed by Kempinski – Shanghai. "As a Kempinski hotel that is notable for high service standard, we bring our impeccable but highly personalised service to our guests. We are dedicated to creating a home environment for all the guests as well as an enjoyable community for long-term guests."

THE ONE has three restaurants encompassing some of the most favored cuisines worldwide. The Su Yang Club serves authentic and light Huaiyang Cuisine, born not far from Shanghai in southern Jiangsu Province and considered one of the most influential cooking styles in China. For elegant Japanese fare, guests and Shanghai residents alike enjoy THE ONE's Japanese restaurant, Hashiya. Lind, the German bakery located in THE ONE's lobby, is the perfect place for a casual meal or a cup of nice tea with authentic German cakes and pastries. It offers various options for guests who are looking for balanced breakfast with a broad range of German breads and a la carte menu of snacks and handcrafted sandwiches.

The Tera Wellness Club located in THE ONE is fully equipped with state-of-art exercise machines, an indoor swimming pool, SPA and a health club. The gym also offers a variety of courses, including Yoga, Tai Chi and other traditional Chinese wellness activities, making it the perfect fit for guests who wish to stay in shape. Reconstructed on the previous Fengyang Building, THE ONE has 26 levels above-ground, 2 basement parking areas and 3 annexes with a total construction area of nearly 30,000 square meters. In addition to the spacious suites, the presidential suite is designed with a roof garden balcony, boasting an impressive panoramic view of the city center.

"We are excited to work with Kempinski, who has a great brand reputation around the world, to create a unique all-suites hotel in Shanghai," said Yu Minjun, Chairman of the Golden Union Group.
