MGallery, Accor’s collection of upscale hotels, operates on the five continents, including in several Asian countries: Thailand, Indonesia, China, and Vietnam. The brand’s Vietnamese establishments are exceptional hotels that combine well-being with a tribute to local culture: La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc, which is being extended, La Résidence Hué and the Hôtel de l’Opéra Hanoï. The latter two were both recently distinguished as being among the best luxury establishments in Asia.
La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc is extending the original building
As a result of its success and increasing demand from customers, La Veranda Resort is being extended. The extension replicates the building’s colonial style and has added 27 rooms and suites to the hotel. Now, the hotel has 76 rooms and suites.
The 19th century colonial-style building faces the magnificent Gulf of Thailand. It is fully integrated in its generous and preserved environment of lush gardens and white sand beaches. La Veranda Resort provides an unrivalled welcome far from the stress of daily life. Stays here focus on well-being, discovery and getting away from it all. Guests can unwind completely at the spa and also attend Taï Chi and Qi Qong lessons on the beach to refocus and breathe.
The new rooms and suites provided the same sense of luxury as the original building. The rooms are spacious, have private balconies and views of either the exotic gardens or the sea.
This summer, room rates start at €116.
To prolong the experience, La Veranda Resort offers guests a unique getaway on its very own private desert island. The trip starts on Phu Quoc’s south quay. After a 40-minute boat ride across the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand – one of the world’s largest marine sanctuaries - guests lunch on a white sand beach sampling fresh fish and seafood caught off Phu Quoc. Then, they are taught to snorkel and can admire the many multicolored fish that live in the coral reef.
La Résidence Hue named one of Asia’s 20 best Resorts by readers of Conde Nast Travellers
La Résidence hotel was built in 1930 and as the official residence of the French colonial governor. It has been painstakingly restored to preserve its unique architecture and environment.
Today, La Résidence has 122 rooms and suites and two hectares of grounds. The art deco designs of the 1920s to 1950s invite guests to journey into the nostalgia of the past. In this serene setting, guests can enjoy a Vietnamese massage and unwind in a heated salt-water pool.
The restaurant “Le Parfum” offers guests a culinary journey through Asian and Western flavors.
La Résidence overlooks Hue’s Flag Tower and Imperial City which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Its history is epic: the last Vietnamese king Bao Dai abdicated there in 1945 and the palace then became the official headquarters of the Communist government, before it was turned into a hotel in 1975. In Hue, the colonial atmosphere is never far off and the spirit of the 1930s is carefully protected at La Résidence.
The hotel is located on the southern bank of the Perfume River which is an ideal starting point for guests to visit the Imperial City by bicycle, journey to the dynasty tombs by boat, discover the citadel and pagodas.
This summer, room rates start at €119 – special offer including breakfast.
The Hotel de l’Opera Hanoi has joined DestinAsian’s list of best luxury hotels in Asia
The Hotel de l'Opéra is located in the center of Hanoï, near the opera house, the old quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Its style reflects the very essence of Hanoi, with colonial touches, theatrical interiors, and contemporary meeting rooms.
Hanoi is an exceptional destination featuring several lakes and parks. Against a backdrop of French colonial architecture, it is steeped in oriental traditions and has a mysterious aura. Its old quarter with 36 guilds, its exotic markets and lively streets, all make each stay a fascinating experience.
This establishment invites guests to journey back in time. Each of the 107 rooms and 4 suites feature interiors with curtains make of traditional silk, parquet floors and warm-colored furnishings. The hotel also boasts leisure facilities (a covered pool with a solarium, spa and fitness room).
The Business Center and four meeting rooms draw their inspiration from French salons and guarantee guests unique and personalized services for the organization of small or medium-sized conferences, product launches or private events.
This summer, room rates start at €103 – special offer including breakfast
MGallery: “Memorable hotels by Accor”.
MGallery is the upscale hotel brand of Accor, the world’s leading hotel group with over 4,400 hotels and 145,000 employees in 92 countries.
All the collection’s hotels are remarkable and unique, with their own distinctive personalities. Each one tells a story, inviting the traveler to live an experience through its architecture, interior and services. Every establishment draws its inspiration from one of the collection’s three atmospheres. Some, like the Hotel de la Cité, are locations steeped in history that highlight their ancient origins –“Heritage”. Others, like the Hotel Muse Bangkok, are esthetic universes, reflecting a style, a design, the “Signature” of a celebrity who contributed to creating or decorating the establishment. Lastly, others, like the Capovaticano Resort Thalasso & Spa in Italy, are an invitation to relax in a fabulous natural setting –“Serenity”-, on the seaside, in the countryside, in the mountains or in an urban “oasis”. All of these establishments are different, but each one invites travelers to share and discover memorable experiences.
The MGallery collection was launched by Accor in September 2008 and is now present in all five continents. The network will expand to over 150 establishments by end 2015.
