The new Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City today welcomes its first guests, well in time for the start of the World Cup. Over the past 20 months Mövenpick, together with Vivico Real Estate GmbH, has erected a comfortable 4-star business and conference hotel; it is located right next to Frankfurt’s trade fair grounds and, with its contemporary furnishings and attractive architecture, meets all the requirements of executive travellers. It is also Mövenpick’s first non-smoking Hotel.

The Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City is situated in the heart of Frankfurt’s new, modern Europa Quarter, opposite Hall 3 and next door to the Festhalle. As a brand new district Frankfurt’s Europa Quarter is shaping the profile of the city on the River Main in a very special way. The future district’s activities are set to focus on services, the retail trade, cultural event, gastronomy and residential living. Office buildings incorporating residential apartments line the Europa-Boulevard. Cafés, galleries, leisure facilities and individual shops and boutiques create an attractive and appealing urban atmosphere. Spacious green areas and recreation zones have also been planned. The main railway station and the airport are only 1 km and 11 km away respectively.

The new Hotel has a total of 288 comfortable rooms on seven floors, including two rooms with disabled access and eight rooms specially furnished for allergy sufferers. Besides the standard fittings and furnishings the Superior Rooms and Junior Suites offer additional comfort. Ochre and burgundy tones combine with fresh apple green furnishings to lend the rooms a warm and cosy atmosphere. Special features include aphorisms from the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe above the headboards, furniture made from African zebrawood and works of art by contemporary artists.

One of the Hotel’s highlights is its panoramic terrace with views of Frankfurt’s skyline. An underground car park with 130 spaces (separate charge) can be accessed directly from the Hotel. The 130 m² fitness centre with solarium on the top floor offers an opportunity to unwind and relax after a strenuous day at the trade fair.

Seating 162 guests, the Mövenpick Hotel Restaurant is a buffet and à-la-carte restaurant serving creative dishes from the wood-fired oven as well as favourite Mövenpick classics. It also offers Mediterranean and international specialities; breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets; and has a show kitchen open all day. Seasonal dishes, Mövenpick brunches and dishes of the day are also served. Chef Tim Müller has been treating his guests to Mövenpick Hotel culinary excellence for 15 years now.

The Mövenpick Hotel Bar has a wide and varied range of snacks and take-away dishes, not to mention a wide selection of wines, beers, cocktails and spirits.

13 multifunctional meeting rooms with the very latest conference and communication technology (equipped with, among others, beamers and touch panels for controlling the technical installations) provide 680 m2 of event space for up to 350 people. Eight rooms ranging in size from 25 to 205 m2 are located on the ground floor with a further five rooms from 28 to 59 m2 on the seventh floor. Public Wireless LAN is available free of charge in all the rooms.

The new General Manager of the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt City, Bernhard Haller (who previously held the same position at the Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt Oberursel), believes the Hotel now has a great opportunity for establishing Mövenpick in Frankfurt, with the trade fair grounds within easy walking distance a huge location advantage. With first-rate culinary excellence in the sectors of buffets, brunches and open show kitchen the Austrian-born General Manager is looking forward to maintaining the Mövenpick Group’s long tradition in Frankfurt.

“Although we’ve been present in the Frankfurt area for a number of years now with a Mövenpick Hotel at Oberursel, we’re particularly delighted to have gained a foothold in the downtown area of this major city. The central location right next to the trade fair entrance, the conference facilities and our culinary competence are certain to make the Hotel particularly attractive for our guests”, says Stefan Flury, Senior Vice President Europe Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
