Hilton Worldwide today announced the appointment of Jon Muñoz as senior director of global diversity and inclusion. In this role, Muñoz will play a key role in executing Hilton Worldwide’s global diversity and inclusion efforts focused on culture, talent, workplace and marketplace strategies.
Muñoz joins Hilton Worldwide from Sprint, where he served as senior manager for inclusion and diversity. While there, Muñoz managed external strategic consumer and business relationships with key African American, Asian, Hispanic, Women and GLBT non-profit organizations. Internally, he oversaw the Office of Inclusion and Diversity, where he managed and implemented six employee resource groups, including the development of its officer development and mentoring programs. In addition, he managed the diversity and inclusion training programs and the CEO-led executive inclusion council. During his tenure, Sprint received the President’s award from the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Prior to Sprint, Muñoz served as vice president and national Hispanic segment manager for Bank One (now JP Morgan Chase), overseeing consumer and business marketing to the Hispanic community.

Ford, vice president of global diversity and inclusion. “He will be of great value to us in furthering our mission to become the preeminent global hospitality company.”
Muñoz has served in a leadership position with numerous organizations including the League of United Latin American Citizens Corporate Alliance; the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ACT-SO Advisory Council; the National Hispanic Corporate Council Board of Directors; the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Senior Executive Corporate Advisory Board; and the United States Pan-Asian American Chamber of Commerce Brain Trust. Muñoz received his bachelor’s degree in communications and advertising at the University of Texas at Austin. He will be based at Hilton Worldwide’s global headquarters in McLean, Va.
