In celebration of the British Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29th April 2011, the Park Lane Hotel in London has created a special Sovereign Afternoon Tea. Guests are welcomed to the exquisite setting of the Palm Court, the Park Lane Hotel’s famed Art Deco lounge, to enjoy the mouth-watering delights of this deliciously regal London high tea.
The menu for the Sovereign Afternoon Tea on the occasion of the British Royal Wedding has been carefully devised by the Park Lane Hotel’s Executive Chef Andrew Bennett MBE and his award-winning Pastry Chef, Sarah Hartnett. Sarah is the current title holder of ‘Pastry Chef of the Year 2010’ having won the accolade at the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs’ Annual Awards in June last year.
To begin, a selection of sandwiches and warm British savouries are served. Towers of homemade scones follow, complemented by seasonal preserves and clotted cream. Finally, guests will be presented with a selection of delightful desserts, fit for any Royal Wedding celebration.
After taking Tea, guests receive the gift of a cup and saucer set, created especially by Churchill China for The Park Lane Hotel’s Sovereign Afternoon Tea to commemorate the British Royal Wedding.
The Sovereign Afternoon Tea at the Park Lane Hotel is served from 3pm-6pm on weekdays and 2pm-6pm at weekends in The Palm Court and costs £45 per person.
