On Saturday, March 26, 2011, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore will dim its lights in observance of Earth Hour 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Guests in residence will be encouraged to turn off their room lights during this hour, while a light stick amenity provided upon turn down Saturday evening will illuminate the way should they venture out of the hotel. Throughout the hotel, the engineering team will shut down the lights on the hotel façade, entrance, lobby, gardens, podium roof, swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting rooms and meeting room foyers.
Remarked General Manager Peter Mainguy, “Participating in Earth Hour is part of our focus on energy and water conservation issues, one aspect of our company-wide Community Footprints programme. Energy-saving LED lights and bulbs were introduced as part of our recent renovation and guests are encouraged to join in with the ongoing bed linen and bath towel conservation program.”
