The Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel - which opened in January 2010 after completing a multi-million dollar extensive rebirth - is pleased to announce the opening of their newest restaurant, Dos Caminos - Thursday,Jan. 27, 2011. The iconic beachfront property now features this haute Mexican cuisine, marking the sixth location for the Dos Caminos brand, bringing the authentic, creative Mexican cantina from New York and Vegas to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel (www.sheraton.com/fortlauderdalebeach).
The playful atmosphere and delicious food perfectly complement this whimsical retreat. Dos Caminos Corporate Executive Chef Scott Linquist presents a crafted menu featuring dishes inspired by local fare, as well as plates that boast vibrant flavors, utilize colorful ingredients and maintain Dos Caminos credo of "old Mexico meets modern cuisine." These signature dishes - from made-to-order guacamole to mahi mahi tacos and snapper ceviche veracruz - enhance the restaurant's extensive tequila and margarita menus as created by Dos Caminos mixologist and author of The Cocktail Primer, Eben Klemm.
"We are thrilled to announce and introduce Dos Caminos to the city of Fort Lauderdale," said Amaury Piedra, complex general manager. "The future is exciting for this landmark location and we are confident that our loyal guests, along with future visitors, will enjoy the enriched dining experience provided by the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel."
Unveiling a more spiced up space, Dos Caminos Fort Lauderdale will accommodate 290 guests - 200 inside and 90 outside - for everyday dining and special events. The space couples the texture and warmth of its oceanfront setting, while illuminating the architectural portfolio and industrial elements that maintain all Dos Caminos locations. Drawing inspiration from historical and modern art, Dos Caminos Fort Lauderdale will host a collection of black and white images mounted in salvaged plywood and encased in resin, as well as mural overlays and free-flowing graffiti, bringing the essence of Mexico City to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel seven days a week for dinner.
