The “Star Diamond Awards” organised by the prestigious American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS) were held in Cannes at the beginning of December, as part of the International Luxury Travel Market. On this occasion, professionals from the world of luxury hospitality gathered in one of the banqueting halls at the Martinez for the 2011 Award Ceremony in the presence of Miss Universe: Jiména Navarrete.
Richard Schilling, General Manager of the Hôtel Martinez, was presented with the “5 Green Star Diamond Award 2011” by Joseph D. Cinque, AAHS President. The Martinez teams were particularly delighted with this honour which this year rewards not only the quality of service, but also their daily commitment and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) already supported by the Green Globe International Certification** obtained last October.
Other awards were also given : To La Palme d’Or, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, “One of the Finest Restaurants Worldwide”; to Chef Christian Sinicropi, “One of Finest Chefs Worldwide”; and to Philippe Caillouet, “One of the Finest Restaurant Managers Worldwide”.
At the end of the ceremony, the guests were invited by the AAHS to a gala dinner concocted jointly by starred chefs Michel Roth (Le Ritz, Paris), David Burke (New York), Heinz Winkler (Germany), John Campbell (Coworth Park, United Kingdom) and Pascal Nibaudeau (Le Regent Grand Hotel, Bordeaux) who joined forces with Chef Christian Sinicropi in the kitchens of the Palme d’Or.
