Cotton Bay Village has announced the appointment of Genevieve Schwigon as sales and guest relations manager, underlining its commitment to working closely with the trade following the recent launch of its White Glove programme for preferred agents. Genevieve brings with her a wealth of experience to drive the continued growth and enhancement of Cotton Bay Village, ensuring it remains one of the jewels in Saint Lucia’s crown.
Born in the UK and raised in Germany to German/Saint Lucian parents, Genevieve describes herself as an ‘international local’, with a career that has taken her across the Mediterranean, Europe and the English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean. After working in Saint Lucia as a representative for tour operators including Elegant Resorts and Abercrombie & Kent, as well as managing the American Express & Carib Travel franchise, Genevieve spent four years in London as a representation consultant with clients including the Saint Lucian Tourist Board, before taking the position of sales executive for the latter, overseeing all trade and consumer activities.
With over 16 years experience of the hospitality and tourism industry behind her, Genevieve is dedicated to adapting the Asian philosophy of “an honour to serve” and fusing this with the inimitably relaxed and warm Caribbean attitude. Says Genevieve, “Cotton Bay Village is an exciting property, and I look forward to strengthening our relationships with tour operators and travel agent partners. Having personal, hands-on involvement in guest relations, and the opportunity to help create an emotional souvenir together with our truly dedicated team, is a privilege.”
