Underscoring its commitment to custom-tailored guest experiences at the best addresses in the world, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) proudly debuts its latest St. Regis Aficionado calendar. Through partnerships with some of the world's most acclaimed influencers and brands, St. Regis has created a series of unprecedented events tailored to its most discerning guests. Available throughout the year with new experiences created for each season, St. Regis' Aficionado program is designed to provide guests access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences and extraordinary events at the best addresses in the world.
"Since the brand's first hotel debuted in 1904, St. Regis has developed a long-standing reputation of offering truly personalized experiences to its guests," says Paul James, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. "This winter season, St. Regis hotels all over the world will introduce a variety of Aficionado experiences including customized spa treatments, guided tours to exclusive locations, and special food and wine tastings with master chefs."
As winter marks the Art & Literature season of the Aficionado calendar year, The St. Regis New York is delighted to offer a private tour of New York's most fascinating rare book collections, personally led by Luke Ives Pontifell, founder of Thornwillow Press and a purveyor of limited edition handcrafted publications. Chauffeured in the St. Regis Flying Spur Bentley, guests will have the opportunity to see extraordinary literary works including, "Mark Twain: A Skeptic's Progress" and will enjoy an intimate viewing of the Morgan family's 19th century dining room and library, which houses more than 120 rare writings, photographs and drawings. In honor of this special excursion, guests will be given the opportunity to either design a set of custom-engraved stationary or select a book from the original collection of St. Regis founder John Jacob Astor IV to be re-produced by Thornwillow Press. Guests will also receive a Thornwillow limited edition copy of Mark Twain's never-published tale, "A Plea for Old Jokes". This Aficionado experience will be available from October 1 to December 31 of this year.
St. Regis Aficionado encourages the quest for self-discovery and wellness with unique experiences, and this season offers the Bespoke Hawaiian Spa Experience available at The St. Regis Princeville Resort's celebrated Halele'a Spa from October 5, 2010 to October 5, 2011. The resort invites guests to benefit from a private consultation with Dana Roberts, the visionary founder of Malie Organics, who will create a customized program of Hawaiian remedies to best suit the guests' needs. Using ingredients from the islands' freshest, organic harvests and rare, indigenous plants, Dana will create a custom spa treatment that will provide guests with the most effective results for their personal needs. After the personalized treatment has been applied by one of the resort's expert therapists during a luxurious experience at Halele'a Spa, the holistic journey will conclude with a private, spa-inspired dinner at Kauai'i Grill, the resort's signature restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
This winter season, the St. Regis Aficionado program also presents a variety of exceptional food and wine experiences which are sure to satisfy even the most refined palette. The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort's Aficionado Experience invites guests to journey to historic Tequila where they will be guided through the Mexican spirit's birthplace, Mundo Cuervo's La Rojena distillery, and witness firsthand the creation process from start to finish. The private tour will conclude with a special tasting of Jose Cuervo's most exclusive tequila, the Reserve of the Family, before returning to The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort for a four-course dinner at the hotel's signature restaurant, Carolina. This exclusive Aficionado experience will be offered from August 30 to December 21 of this year. The St. Regis Princeville Resort is pleased to offer an additional Aficionado experience hosted by Chef Colin Hazama, executive chef of the resort's signature restaurant, Kauai'i Grill and avid free diver and spear fisherman. This experience includes a trip along the stunning Kauai'i coastline in a 45-foot traditional Hawaiian sailing canoe guided by the renowned chef. During the excursion, Chef Hazama will take guests on a snorkel tour and introduce his favorite underwater spots showcasing beautiful and diverse marine life found in Hawaii's crystal clear waters. After the morning's adventures in the water, guests will enjoy an exquisite three-course lunch on board the canoe, prepared by Chef Hazama himself. The St. Regis Princeville Resort invites guests to participate in this special Aficionado experience from October 5, 2010 to October 5, 2011.
For the sports enthusiast as well as the culinary connoisseur, The St. Regis Atlanta introduces the Fire & Ice Dinner Aficionado Experience in which guests will enjoy a truly unforgettable evening in a winter wonderland at the only hotel ice skating destination in Georgia. The "on-ice" experience will begin when a St. Regis Butler performs a signature champagne sabering ritual and celebratory toast to the evening. Then, following a 60-minute private skating lesson on the Astor Holiday Rink, guests will enjoy an exclusive six-course prix-fixe dinner for two in the warm glow of candlelight while waiters graciously attend their every need on skates. This unparalleled winter experience will be available from November 24, 2010 to January 3, 2011.
