HIGH-FLYING DINING AND SOCIAL SCENE AT MY PLACE
Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport offers fab dining promotions in September, October and November 2010

Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport’s four sophisticated dining and entertainment destinations take Shunyi district dining to new heights and attract a high-flying social scene. Whether for meetings or meals between flights, intimate rendezvous or rollicking social gatherings, be sure to take advantage of the great dining promotions in the coming months at the city’s hottest new venues.

Ming Court offers modern Chinese fine dining in a chic setting. Must-try dishes include the delicious dim sum, which catapulted its sister restaurant in Hong Kong to Michelin stardom, along with succulent barbecue meats from the purpose-built barbecue kitchen. Cantonese chef Chan Yuen Lung, known as ‘The Master of Dim Sum’, prepares divine delectables from 11:30-14:30 daily. In September and October, tuck in to ‘a la carte’ all-you-can-eat dim sum for just RMB98 per person and come November, three Master Chefs with a combined five Michelin stars will visit from the award-winning kitchens of three Langham Hotels in Hong Kong. They will each present a superb Cantonese menu of signature dishes – and share their secrets at exclusive cooking classes (limited places so book early).

Fuel features live music, bar sports, big screens and hearty comfort fare. In September, this fun, family-friendly sports bar promises to ‘Tickle your Ribs’ with lots of yummy varieties of melt-in-your-mouth ribs priced at RMB100, washed down with boutique beers. And hey, your first drink is on us. Bring your kids along and they eat for absolutely free (under 12 years with a paying adult).

Road warrior-dom has never been so sexy as at Portal – Work & Play a 24-hour bar and Internet hub that blurs the boundaries of business and pleasure. From 11:00-23:00 daily, Portal is ‘Tapping to Tapas’ as it offers a seasonal tapas tasting plate and glass of wine for just RMB98 per person, accompanied by the latest grooves from the resident music stylist.

Portal – Work & Play also presents its own take of the popular tradition of afternoon tea, with the introduction of “The New Yorker Afternoon Tea”, featuring a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked cupcakes, assorted canapés and a choice of gourmet tea or coffee, for just RMB108 per person, or for those who wish to swank up their tea with a funky cocktail at RMB180 per person. The New Yorker Afternoon Tea is served from 15:00 – 18:30 daily.

Wholesome all-day restaurant The Place serves global favourites. As an introductory treat, you can bring a friend along for free at lunchtimes to enjoy the extravagant buffet spread. In the evenings, the quality, seasonal buffet is ignited by a gourmet theme ‘Be Shell-fish’ (November). On Sundays, indulge in a decadent ‘Funday Brunch’ from 11:30-15:00, priced at RMB240 per person (RMB295 with wine, RMB350 with Champagne). As an added bonus, kids under 12 dine free with a paying adult and enjoy their own entertainment at the ‘Little People’ club.
