Sofitel Dalat Palace for Earth Hour 2010 (Viêt Nam)

The World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)- Vietnam is hoping for a positive response from the entire nation in its global Earth Hour campaign, Sofitel Dalat Palace calls upon people to switch off their lights at 20:30 to 21:30 on March 27, 2010 for one hour.

Recently announce its Earth Hour, Sofitel Dalat Palace is strong supporter of WWF and expects one billion people from a thousand cities to turn off their lights for one hour as a signal of unity and determination in the battle against climate change.

A number of world famous buildings, such as the Burj Dubai, the highest building in the United Arab Emirates, the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada, Sydney Opera House, the University of Singapore and Helsinki Cathedral, Finland have all registered to turn off their lights at that time.
On the day of its launch, the Earth Hour campaign received positive responses from 74 cities across 62 countries worldwide.

This project is part of the Accor Group's global Earth Guest Day, which represents the climax of all the sustainable development actions carried out by worldwide employees under the Accor Group. It advocates ecological and energy conservation activities, involving employees and clients to enhance the social awareness and symbolize sustainable development. The first “Earth Guest Day” of Accor Group spanned 69 countries and included the participation of 100,000 employees.

“Earth Hour is a unique opportunity for Sofitel Dalat Palace and guests to participate in a worldwide event created to aid us in this challenge of leaving the planet in better condition for the next generation. Mr. Tony Chisholm said. We will turn off all the hotel lights but “It will be a romantic evening with candles all through the Sofitel creating an amazing ambiance for us to celebrate this event with our guests and hopefully attract more awareness as a result of the efforts of our team’s contribution here in the city of Dalat, Vietnam.”
