WHAT:
Royal Caribbean International’s newest cruise ship, the highly-anticipated Oasis of the Seas, will make her U.S. debut into her homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Hundreds of eager onlookers – ranging from Royal Caribbean top executives to local government officials and residents – are expected to be on site to celebrate the arrival of the world’s largest and most revolutionary cruise ship as she is welcomed by a flotilla of fireboats, private watercraft and other maritime escorts.
WHEN:
Friday, November 13, 2009; Oasis schedule is as follows:
* 6:30 am – Oasis is visible from the shore line
* 8:00 am – Oasis arrives at mouth of inlet
* 8:30 am – Oasis is positioned inside basin
* 9:00 am – Berthing at Terminal 18

Note: All mediawishing to board the ship must provide security information no later than Wed., Nov. 18: name, date of birth, driver’s license or passport number, and nationality.
ONBOARD OASIS: Oasis of the Seas introduces unique industry “firsts” including a neighborhood concept – seven main themed areas providing guests with the opportunity to seek out relevant experiences based on their personal style, preference or mood. Within these neighborhoods are many spectacular elements and features, including:
* Central Park, the first living park at sea with nearly 12,000 plants and trees
* Boardwalk, a family oriented environment with a hand carved carousel
* a thrilling zip wire ride that races diagonally nine-decks above an open-air atrium
* 28 multilevel loft suites (the first at sea) boasting floor-to-ceiling windows
* AquaTheater – an amphitheater style space that serves as a pool by day and a dazzling oceanfront theater by night for high-diving and aquatic acrobatic performances
* An elevating bar and 24 dining options including the upscale 150 Central Park, healthy fare at Solarium Bistro, decadent sweets at The Cupcake Cupboard (a first at sea) and the traditional main dining room
