The restaurant is to be managed by the Spaniard Sergi Arola, a two-star Michelin chef part of an elite group of international award winners.

On 6th November, the Tivoli São Paulo - Mofarrej will be opening the Arola-Vintetres to the public, a restaurant operating in partnership with the Spanish Chef Sergi Arola. Sergi was chosen because of the innovative line he follows in his restaurants around the world. He will also be the first two-star Michelin Chef to be in charge of a restaurant in all of the Americas. “The partnerships is perfect: It brings together the luxury and style of the Tivoli São Paulo – Mofarrej with the exclusivity of Sergi’s cooking” states Bernard Mercier, regional director of operations for Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in Brazil.

The Arola-Vintetres is on the 23rd floor of the hotel and has a fabulous panoramic view of São Paulo. Decorated by the architect Patrícia Anastassiadis, the restaurant has a wine cellar with over two thousand bottles to accompany a menu of Mediterranean inspiration with touches of Catalan influence and Brazilian ingredients. In addition to the traditional wild potatoes, Arola will also be bringing to São Paulo more than 30 different types of tapas and dishes such as Iberian acorn ham and Santoña anchovies.

Accompanying Sergi Arola in this challenge will be Fábio Andrade, who will be coordinating the kitchen. Fábio is a São Pulo born Chef with six years of experience and has worked with Sergi in Madrid at the Arola Gastro, a restaurant which was also recognized by the Michelin Guide.

The opening of this restaurant increases the list of five star services already offered by the Tivoli São Paulo – Mofarrej. The hotel is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the prestigious group of the best hotels in the world. One of the differentiating factors of this hotel is the Mofarrej presidential suite, the biggest in Latin America with an area of 750 m2.

The hotel also has an Elements Spa by Banyan Tree. Winner of the 4 Rodas 2010 Guide Award in the category of ‘Best Hotel Spa’. Elements Spa is the first unit from the luxury Banyan Tree network to opening South America.

Sergi Arola’s Profile
Born in Barcelona, Sergi Arola first started to cook at home when he was still quite young through the influence of his grandfather. In 1991, he became part of the “Young Cuisine Lovers”, a group where he met his most important influence: Pierre Gagnaire, an icon of creative French cuisine.

Over the years, Arola has won many different prizes, including: “Au Chef de l’Avenir”, from the International Academy of Gastronomy, National Gastronomy Award, Gourmet Club Chef of the Year, the best Pastry Section in a Restaurant award from Gourmet magazine, “Elle” Best Chef award and Metrópoli Best Chef of the Year award. At the same time, his restaurants in Madrid (Spain) and Penha Longa (Portugal) were considered two of the “50 Hot Tables” of the world by the Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.
