Flying Reindeer, Towering Toy Soldiers, Glimmering Gift Boxes and a Dazzling Holiday Tree Will Create a Display to Remember
Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens will welcome winter with a spectacular holiday display rich in nostalgia and filled with picture-perfect botanical creations. Visitors will discover flying reindeer made of whole pecans, a charming snowman family created with white carnations and an oversized wreath adorned with pine cones and a golden bow. In the center of it all, a spectacular holiday tree will send gazes soaring while musical sounds of the season will evoke fond memories of home.
Upon entering the Conservatory, a brick-lined path surrounded by pink and red poinsettias will invite guests to stroll through a 21-foot-tall holiday wreath. Standing at attention on each side of the wreath will be four grand toy soldiers, each a commanding 15 feet tall.
Just steps away, a fanciful tableau will capture six reindeer in mid-flight as they guide a present-filled, red-lacquer sleigh into a snowy sky. Each majestic reindeer will be made of 110 pounds of whole pecans and will wear a brilliant yoke of cranberry-red, dried botanicals. Nearby, a 7-foot-tall, custom-sculpted rocking horse will call to mind gifts of yesteryear.
A whimsical snowman family, the creation of 15,000 white carnations, also will tug on the heartstrings of visitors, young and old. The delightful trio, set in a wintry clearing, will be clad in brightly colored hats, scarves, coats and earmuffs. Oversized, 13-foot-tall peppermint sticks and glowing ice bursts will complement the magical scene.
The inspiring centerpiece of this beautiful exhibit will be a stately 32-foot Shasta Fir ablaze in an intricate ‘tiara’ of twinkling lights. The magical creation of a state-of-the-art LED display, the impressive tree will feature more than 12,000 holiday lights, sparkling chrome accents and delicate jewels. Additionally, giant holiday ornaments will encircle the tree and appear to float in mid-air.
Visitors are invited to enjoy this whimsical winter wonderland at Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens December 7 through January 3, 2009.
