JIA Shanghai, the award-winning designer boutique residence, has launched a new package for enthusiasts and collectors of contemporary Chinese art.
This unique 'Artscape' package includes a unique city art tour specially designed by renowned art specialist and gallery owner Andrew James (www.andrewjamesart.com).
Priced at US$1,495 + tax and service charge a night, it also includes a lucky draw which offers the chance to win a lithograph titled “Children No. 1” by contemporary Chinese artist Guo Jin, valued at RMB 15,000, as well as dinner for six at JIA Shanghai's Italian restaurant ISSIMO (valued at RMB 4,000), with Andrew James personally introducing exclusive new Chinese art pieces.
The package is valid until February 28, 2009 and includes accommodation in a chic JIA Studio Plus room which comes with a welcome flute of champagne or JIA cocktail and complimentary continental breakfast at Issimo, all day soft beverages, afternoon cakes and evening wine in the Lobby, free broadband/wifi connection throughout the hotel and free local calls.
The art tour includes visits to the Shanghai Art Museum and MoCA Shanghai, which have monthly exhibitions of contemporary art, the avant-garde Shanghai Gallery of Art on The Bund, Studio Rouge run by Australian George Michell, and galleries in the colonial former 'French Concession' such as Art Labor, O.V Gallery, Mei’s, New York Gallery, James Cohen Gallery, as well as a recommended stop for lunch or tea at KEE Shanghai, a private members club located in the heritage 1920’s Twin Villas, with ShangArt. The tour is completed at Andrew James Art, a short stroll from JIA Shanghai.
JIA Shanghai is a fashionable destination for style-conscious and discerning travellers, with international accolades including Condé Nast Traveller's “Hot List” of the world's hippest new hotels, Travel + Leisure's equivalent “It List” and “Best Hotel Design” by Interior Design magazine.
Opened by Singaporean entrepreneur Yenn Wong, it continues the expansion of her highly successful JIA Boutique Hotels concept from Hong Kong to China’s hottest city. The group also operates innovative restaurant concepts in Singapore, including Graze in Rochester Park and Kha, a modern Thai restaurant in the verdant heart of the city’s Horticultural Park. JIA Shanghai was developed as a joint venture between Yenn Wong and Hong Kong-based Indonesian businessman John Aryananda.
