Ballymore, the leading international property development and investment group, is pleased to announce the opening of the 5 star Kempinski Hybernska in central Prague. The hotel was constructed by Ballymore through the painstaking restoration of a 17th century listed building. It comprises
9,000 sq metres (100,000 square feet) and includes 75 luxury rooms and suites.
Pavel Bem, Mayor of the City of Prague, was joined at the
opening ceremony by His Excellency Mr Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic, Sean Mulryan, Chairman of Ballymore Group and David Brophy, Group Chief Executive.
Dr Bem said: "I am honoured that Prague has attracted such a
prestigious investment. The building, a focal point in central Prague and within walking distance of our most important cultural and historical sites, has now been carefully restored. The hotel features grand, high-ceilinged
rooms and its garden, which covers 1,800 square metres and houses more than 2,500 new trees, is an oasis in the heart of our beautiful city."
Sean Mulryan said: "I am delighted to be announcing such good news in one of the world's most beautiful cities. Ballymore has built a reputation for attention to detail and is rightly proud of the care taken in the restoration of this impressive building, and the resulting world class
hotel. The Kempinski brand has been synonymous with unique luxury and graceful service for more than 100 years, and we are delighted that Kempinski will run this hotel with us. "
